-- It scares me to see the words "that's what people want" in a developer's writing... As a strong believer in creating as your heart desires, rather than by the (perceived) whims of a consumer base, I start to feel uncertain about the whole ordeal. Your intentions still seem, at their core, focused around your own levels of creativity and motivation, rather than outside sources of advice or consumer pressure, so there's really not an issue there, I guess.

It's just a casual observation, honestly, rather than a critique of you (like I'd be an expert at something like that ugh), but as a creator, the seed looks like it's there, but it hasn't started to sprout.

-- As to Patreon, I'm totally excited to see what comes of that! I've always wanted to donate to your cause, and would love to see how big crowdfunding could really become for someone that has over TWENTY SIX MILLION SITE HITS WOW. Imagine if each hit had pledged even 5 cents... You'd have made $1,300,000 (approximately £797,962) since 2004!

I'm kind of curious, PLW, as to what your thoughts are regarding your cause, so to speak, in all of this. It's been such a long time since I first became a fan, and I now wonder how much you think your goals have changed since the days of doodling levels for games on lined paper in grade school. Could you possibly make a post about that? Feel free to take it to any level of meta or abstraction as you desire..!

I don't know what should be done about these bans. From previous experience in this site's history, it seems like most of these people are going to remain exiled. Either way, I just hope that healing comes of it, both for the community and for Pseudo.

It seems apparent to me that talking about and reviewing these bans is allowing past trolls and griefers to demonstrate their destructive behaviours even further, so I hope this becomes history soon, and that we all move on as a community. These people are now gone, so let's learn from this, and look for ways to be more progressive and supportive of the site's goals. What are those goals? Well, maybe that's a topic for another post.

Personally, I miss the frequent postings of art, music, and game development. It's what has helped inspire me at various points in my life, and I don't want one person's victim complex, one person's inferiority complex, or one person's abrasive, immodest nature to end the long-standing admiration and emotional connection I've built with Pseudo's work.

I kinda want to refrain from posting in consideration of your trouble with dealing with even the simplest 'hello,' but I wanted to say that I feel a little glad that I've left you mostly alone throughout the years, without obsessing, pestering, or otherwise breaking into your life like so many other people have.

I'll be leaving my home and state here in the U.S.A. to join the military in a few days, and I know that you can't care about that, but I just want to let you know that I would have fought beside you if I could have. If I had been in control of my internet life during my teen years, I would have done my damnedest to try to help bring you peace of mind.

I'm sorry for the torment you've been having to go through, and I know that no matter what I do or say now, I can't really be a big help, and I'm sorry that this so much of this site has turned so rotten.

Whenever I get the free time, I swear to play your future games, because it's what you're great at, and you deserve the audience.

Hap e birthed a, Pseudo! It's been a while, but I still wait in excitement for what you have coming up next! Thank you for continuing your work through these years! Five years ago, I joined Fighunter in admiration of MARDEK, and since then, I've grown to know and understand game development and what it means to create artwork. I would have never met the people that I currently create art with if it hadn't been for you, your games, and your website. I admire your ability to continue development despite a your personal struggles and frustrations, as sometimes I run out of motivation just from the sheer amount of energy it takes to create. I'll always be excited to see what you are doing from one year to the next, because your work is of a quality that I hope to attain one day, and possibly surpass.

Happy Birthday.

Well, I just realized how I've completely made an ass out of myself. That's really all I can say.

I can see how everything I've said here has been very neatly dissected and re-represented to show the worst points of what I said, and I can understand how frustrating that's been for Pseudo. I can't disagree with Kenji's level of rhetorical response, though, as it's much more well thought-out than the hopespeech I was spewing out.

That's too bad, because I got totally stamped down when I thought I was just saying something, well, positive...

[edit a few minutes later] I feel like it's a little unfair to peg Psuedo's forum project as something based in obsession, since he's certainly allowed to make his own choices, regardless of how much we like his ideas.

(Okay how did you do text formatting? I didn't think there was any bbcode available anymore... Did you copy/paste formatted text from Microsoft Word or something?)

I can see where you are coming from. However, because I have never seen a forums system like this before, I don't think I can necessarily argue against it. I can see the potential value for this system to do the things that you have above quoted as being unexplained, though. I like the idea of having separate factions (though I think Houses would be a better term, kinda like the Hogwarts analogy mmagee points out above) wherein I can express opinions to a very specific group of people. Even if they are grossly biased due to the nature of a personality-split site, I would still enjoy having the resource.

Of course, I wouldn't use the ABCD section of the forum exclusively! I'd try to make use of the rest of the forum moreso than the 'private' section, as it seems to be designed for...

I'd use italics in place of caps, but I don't think that this would get the point across very well.

As someone who actually READ what this blog post is saying, I would say that this is a BRILLIANT idea! This is honestly one of those times when I could say that you have come up with a genius idea that we can all benefit from. My only concern is whether or not there are currently enough active members to allow this system to function properly. I'd love to try out the system when you are ready to release it though.

I think that the people who say things like "stop applying personality models to everything" or "I don't get why you get so mad at us having our own opinion" are missing the WHOLE point of this ABCD format for the forums. This isn't something that any of you have ever seen before, so stop trying to make judgments and PREDICTIONS OF THE FUTURE about it. Not only that, but this isn't some totalitarian 'thought control' system where you no longer get to have your own personality anymore; this is the exact opposite! This ABCD system allows people to actually EXPAND upon their own personality and develop socially in a virtual environment best suited for them.

Every single forums website already DOES apply concepts of personality traits in its very design, even though we don't notice it.

Pseudolonewolf is not trying to create something simply for the sake of obsession, he is trying to mould a forum that is currently detrimental to his health into something that could tolerable, or even recreational for him. I know that if I had spent almost ten years of my life on Fighunter, I'd try to make it a better place for myself.

Hello Pseudolonewolf, it's me again! It's been a while, but I have an important offer for you regarding donations. If you could please look through your PMs or your Gmail, that would be SUPER fantastic! Thank you so much for your work and dedication towards doing what you love!

Also, I really like the fact how you implemented the old Mind Crystals from Mardek in your new character design!

I really love these comics! They were actually a pretty good catharsis to me, as I was feeling a little stressed out before I visited the site today.

The first comic does a flawless job of presenting an introvert and an extrovert without demonizing either of them. There is a little bit of bias due to your personal knowledge on the subject, but you made a very subtle, compelling statement there.

I find the second comic to be very profound, as well as hilarious. The contrast of facial expressions when juxtaposed to the events in the first panel do a great job of conveying your perspective of life on this site. I can TOTALLY empathize with what you are saying here. Good work!

I can't wait to see more Catharsis comics!
