Okay, now I'm quite sure what pugs actually are. This little dogs with crumpled faces which are called 'Mops' in German. The reason I post: there is a German children's song just about pugs! It's called 'Ein Mops kam in die K├╝che', it's endless and can be sung as long as you like, if you like pugs, that is. Or if you don't like pugs, because, well I'll try to translate:

A pug got in the kitchen
and stole an egg from the chef
the chef then took a spoon (or maybe a ladle would be more appropriate?)
and beat the pug to a pulp (children apparently like violence)

Then all the pugs gathered
and dug a grave for him
they then set up a gravestone
on which this written was:

A pug got in the kitchen
and stole an egg from the chef
...
and so on for all eternity! If you get faster singing it with every turn it gets really fun! Of course it rhymes in German and even has some metric or something maybe.

Just some rambling for all the pugs fans out there.

Pugs. Ohyes. Now... how exactly does one hate pugs?!? Seriously...

Pugs really do count as an interest, though. If you've ever known a pug, it's pretty much impossible to *not* form an opinion about them! Pugs are rather good at making you form an opinion about them. Still, that opinion isn't always good. Let's face it. They smell, they're lazy, they pant all the time, they eat like pigs and sleep like cats. Some pugs are selfish, some pugs are aggressive... but the thing is, you only get out of them what you put into them. Pugs are like children, only ever becoming what they're raised to be. A spoiled pug is the product of being raised spoiled, just as a child is.

I like pugs because they are simple creatures that can communicate emotions with ease. They have a tail that can indicate their mood in two ways(How tight the curl is and how the pug wags said tail.) and they have a face with endless expression.(Large eyes, odd mouth etc. etc., they can actually smile. The wrinkles in their forehead are misleading, though. Most people think a pug is wrinkly, when in reality they only wrinkle up their face when making certain expression. In all honesty, the reason all their pictures have wrinkles is because they don't tend to look at a camera, and to get them to look at the camera, you have to make a noise to get them curious... and their curious face is one of their wrinkly faces...) Pugs are surprisingly emotional, and loads of fun. They act like children and usually get along with children... I guess this says how much I really do take an interest in pugs, doesn't it?

Also, apparently Mardek's face probably doesn't look too much like a poorly pug's arse, according to an NPC in Aeropolis... XD

I never knew pugs were so interesting; I've always thought of them as wannabe-bulldogs. Bulldogs are the cutest, funniest, friendliest things I've ever found; I have a strange love for their funny faces. They're another smiling dog, and their baby-like appearance makes them endearing. (Oversized paws, disproportionately large heads, et cetera) Pugs are more athletic, however, and much healthier, so I can see their allure. :D

Athletic? Are you sure you're thinking of pugs? XD Pugs are incredibly lazy animals, sleeping 22 hours a day. I suppose they are more fit than most bulldogs, but there are different kinds of bulldog. I believe the French bulldog is healthier than pugs, usually. As it turns out, however, pugs are actually considered to be a type of bulldog, oddly enough. You don't think "pug" when you think bulldog.(I do, but that's because I always think "pug". XD)

I do love bulldogs though, they're so cute. Some people think they, and pugs as well, are ugly, but I think if anything, they're so ugly that their ugliness inverts onto itself and makes them cute. They're like black holes of cuteness. I personally really love their personalities. Myes.

I've never met a French bulldog- I've grown up around the English variety, which huff and puff after running twenty feet. The lovable oafs aren't made for physical exertion, sadly... my neighbor's pug could run circles around my old pal. D:

Bulldogs and pugs are endearing, though. I used to let my bulldog sleep on my lap- until he started weighing 80 pounds, and I couldn't get up. XD

Oh pugs are famous for being gluttons. I've literally seen 60 pound pugs. The heaviest pugs I've ever owned, however, were only about 25-30 pounds.(The males tend to be lean, but very dense with muscle compared to the females.) A pug would eat until it exploded if it was given the chance. In fact, they do say that pugs are a breed you have to be careful with due to weight problems. They do have some health issues, but nowhere near enough to be particularly problematic for anyone.

Dogs in general just have such sweet dispositions that I find it hard *not* to love them! Pugs in particular have a way of squirming their way into your heart, like some warped form of heart-based parasite. I have a few pugs, and it seems they are only capable of sleeping in human beds and/or on human laps. There's a reason they're called "lap dogs". Still, I know from experience that it's really hard to have 3 fully grown pugs on your lap. o_O
