Hello. I was just wondering how my comment here ∞ Fig Hunter ∞ made you feel bad enough to -F, so that I may change it to avoid offending others in the future.

What I didn't like was your phrase, "Clothes make the man." For future reference, you really shouldn't mention it if they only rated one letter poorly.

Uh...
"Clothes make a serious amount of the man to other people but not totally because saying otherwise would discriminate against those who are not aesthetically inclined/aware."?
I think the first one sounded better, but whatever ya say bro. :P

Actually, I don't see why I can't politely question a rating I thought was unfair...who told you that, anyway?
I don't exactly see β Mania saying:

"WELL EVEN IF ITS AN UNFAIR NEGATIVE RATING U SHOODN'T QUESTION IT! NO QUESTIONING! RRRRAAAAAGGGGHHH *shoots laserbeams cuz hes so cool*"

Actually, to be truthful, I CAN see him saying that. But that's not why I'm here.
Enoch, you aren't very good at the ratings system, and I wish you would actually give a good rating once in a while. You're just plain mean the wqy you rate. That's about all. I may or mqy not edit this later. Ciao≈

You know, I've never questioned the way people rated my posts, even if I would disagree with them. But on this occasion I can't help but feel that your ratings were unjustified. I'm talking about my comment in the "Which leader?" thread, of course. While -F,-I and -S are entirely subjective, -L seems well out of place. Sure, the comment wasn't the most eloquent one of all, but it didn't contain so little as even a single typo. Additionally, you were apparently the only person to rate it this way.

So, I'd very much appreciate it if you were to explain why you've rated my post the way you did.

I had to read through it twice to understand it, thus the -L. I knew that most people would say scientist, so your comment wasn't interesting bringing about the -I. The -S doesn't need explaining, I just disagree. I was quite annoyed how you made military leaders seem like evil people, they excel in strategy. Economy, is strategy, moral of the populace requires strategy. A military leader would be quite adept at ruling a country. Thus the -F.

Though I find it annoying another person is complaining about how I rate, as I have always been able to justify it. Thank you for being less pointlessly angry, and instead expressing a reasonable opinion.

Twice? That's hardly a reason to down-vote. There were posts I had to read as many as 5 times to fully understand them. But not even once have I rated such posts with -L. I strongly disagree with your opinion on that one. Nevertheless, I'll not insist that you change that as it is entirely your choice.

As for the military leaders, to date I've seen them do little more than harm. Skilled in strategy as they may be, they lack experience in most areas, and their list of priorities differs from that of civilians considerably. Their approach to handling affairs is effective in a militarized environment. There are a lot of things they never concern themselves about, so whenever put in charge of a country, they flat out don't know what to do. Economy is an uncharted territory for them, as well as the more subtle matters that must be handled.
In the army, there's an immutable set of rules and regulations. The list of standards is the same for all. In a civilian society, people vary much more greatly, and expect much more care and consideration than soldiers in the army. The general can therefore no longer apply the same methods he's been using for years, if not decades. A delicate approach is something entirely new to them, yet it's a necessity.

The military leader may not be evil at all; further, he may very well act on his best intentions. But due to reasons mentioned above, he's just not qualified to fill the position.
