In Ten Words...
I find it difficult to explain things clearly so I will add to my bio in increments slowly once I've thought about what I want to say about myself. As a lurker, I don't think many will be reading my bio so this is mainly for my own benefit as, in a way, I am analysing who I am. I think that I am a stranger to myself so this would be an extremely helpful exercise.
Might do this section later when I have something coherent to write...
What brought me to Fighunter and why?
MARDEK brought me here. Everthing about it appealed to me, from the pixel art and the music to the roleplaying gameplay and the whimsical humour. It also reminded me of the Final Fantasy series that I rate as my most favourite series of videogames ever! This is why I felt the urge to find out who was behind the creation of Belfan.
As a side note:
My second favourite game series of all time is Kingdom Hearts (see: my avatar). A favourite moment of mine in the MARDEK series was during chapter 2, in which I was greatly amused by a weapon that (eventhough it is otherwise stated) was blatantly a reference to Kingdom Hearts and could've easily been missed due to a 50% drop rate!
In addition, it was a drop of the Locksmith who also used it as a weapon as shown here: ∞ Locksmith ∞ Hilarious!
I thought I would write about this seeing as this is my main hobby (or addiction according to my parents).
My first console was a Game Boy and the first games I played on it were Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow, Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and A Link to the Past. Even though it was all in black and green, my mind was blown by the different worlds & their inhabitants while it was filling in the colours with my own imagination.
My second console was a Sega Mega Drive (otherwise known as a Sega Genesis elsewhere), which introduced me to Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage and Golden Axe, Spiderman and Batman's videogaming ventures and many others.
The third console I owned was the Playstation 2. Here, is where I found Rayman, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, as well as Kingdom Hearts and my first Final Fantasy game (no not FFVII but more on that some other time).
My fourth and final console before my current one was the Nintendo Wii. As an avid Zelda fan, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was the main reason for obtaining it. However, as I got to the final section of the game, the Wii decided to stop functioning. I got a refund and moved on.
Currently, I call the Playstation 3 my 'home' at the moment, but I am no 'fanboy' of the console willing to defend it till the end of time on a comments section under an article on IGN. I chose the console simply because I wanted to buy the successor to my PS2; hoping that there would be backwards compatibility...
Since buying a PS3, I have had various handheld consoles such as the Nintendo DS, DSi and Playstation Portable. Most of them were eventually lent to (and therefore broken by) my sisters. My current handheld console is a 3DS as I only played Ocarina of Time once years ago around a friends house, so the remake was an ideal time to revisit it.
I briefly used my computer to play The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Fallout, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 as well as other games from Steam. However, as a medium for gaming, I now use the PC mainly for flash games.
As can be seen from my history of videogames, I became an admirer of various companies of the gaming industry, from Sega and Valve to the Big Three, otherwise known as Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft.
