Well well.

Years I've not visited this website. I come back to play some old MARDEK and what do you know? It's back(sort of)! It's great to see you're so excited for this. At first is was kind of dissappointed with the episodic content and the Alora Fane setting but after reading your Alora Fane link I'm really excited!

Personally I really like the ideas of no levels and set characters in situations. I like games where I'm put in a situation with finite stuff to work with, especially in battle sequences and the like. And one of my biggest annoyances with MARDEK 3 was that I couldn't see every character's reaction to a plot development. In MARDEK 2 I always switched Zach for Vern to know what he had to say.

And while at first I was sort of put off by the Alora Fane setting, that's mostly because it's unfamilliar to me. Now that I think about it I'd love to see a new unviserse of your hand. Especially with the old story still in it!

The only thing I really miss is elements. And not for the reason you think. While I originally liked the concept, over the years I started to see that they're sort of generic(and once again I know nothing about the sentiments system which creates something new for me to explore). No the thing I'm going to miss about them is their symbols.

I LOVED the design of the elemental symbols. They're beautiful in their simple but representative design. I still draw them whenever I've got nothing better to do.

Anyway it's great to see more MARDEK and it's even more great to see you're so excited about it.

Wow that's very nice.

Sorry for this insanely late reply. I'm not hanging around as much on this site as much as I used to. But I appreciate it a lot that someone took the time to read it.

But yeah that is my view of religion. I'm kinda dissapointed that a lot of atheist are complaining that Christianity tries to convert people and stereotypes other religions, while they are doing the same thing with Christianity. IRONYYYYY.

That BIO was writing some time ago and my view of the whole Holland thing has changed. I do not really have a problem with that anymore. Altough I still like that I could teach a little fact like that to someone.

Feel free to completly ignore this reply.

Hmm, never looked at it that way. The USA always seem to be so protective wen it comes to alcohol(and drugs in general), even more so when children are involved. I personally find that a bit to conservative. But I AM a dutchie so :p.

Thanks Silence, you can say it much better then me. And I had never thought about it, but it does seem like people on this site are somewhat hipsterish. Not that that bothers me, but it does make me think.

Oh and yeah cider is great, love the stuff.

Alright. Hello everyone. I am toen6, and I have been a visitor of fighunter for a few years now. But apart from the time I just joined I didn't really much do anything because I never felt like I was contributing anything and also because I don't attend the site that aften I get the idea that it is hard to become a member of it's community(wich is awesome by the way).

However that's not what this thread is about. No, this thread is about alcohol. I got the idea for this thread by Psuedo's recent list of things he generally associated with "ordinary" people. One of his impressions, number 7 to be exact, was the many people drink alcohol on weekly if not daily basis. Well that seems a little exagerated. But I do drink about every 2 weeks. Then when I read the comments I got the idea that most people here never drink. This didn't really seem like a surprise, because I had gotten that idea earlier. But it did inspire me to make this post. Because what I wan't to ask everyone is: Do people here really have a problem with people like me who like to drink every now and then.

hmm, maybe I should shed a little light on my drinking behavior first. I mostly drink on parties, and sometimes I take 2 or 3 friends to a bar and have a beer or two. I started drinking when I was 16, wich is the legal age here, but I must admit that a lot of my friends didn't. Very soon after I started I found that this was something that I really liked to do. I had really fun, wacky conversations with people. I got in funny situations wich were somewhat embarrassing when looking back but I can still laugh about. And it even helped me with relations with other people because the stuff makes us looser and we finally got to talk about certain things that bothered us. And I never have gotten sick of the stuff.

So as you can see drinking is something wich I really like to do. Don't get me wrong I do get why people don't like it. Some of the stuff really tastes bad(I never touch wodka, whisky or anything like that), and you can het really sick if you don't watch out. But I still get the idea that some people look down on people like me who do like to look deep in the bottle. So fellow fighunters: tell me why alcohol is so "bad". I really don't see the problem.

I completely agree being an Atheist myself I am sometimes ashamed about the things other Atheïst say about religion. I personally believe that while God does not in fact exist, religion has done more good then harm.

I also have mixed feelings about the whole flying spaghetti monster thing. For people who don't know: Somewhere in America a few years ago a school wanted to tell Genesis next to evolution in the biology class. One parent then sent a letter to the school saying he believed in a flying spaghetti monster who created the world. And after that that there was just as much proof for his "believe" as there was for Christian beliefs.

And while I do agree with the man as religious stories shouldn't be part of biology lessons. I don't approve of how the flying spaghetti monster is used now. There are people who dress up as one and then go to Christian events. And the website of the flying spaghetti monster is flooded with anti-religion hatemail.

So yeah, I do agree with you.

Well I have commented a few times on these things but the last time is over 2 years ago i think. I do read all of them though. I also used to post on the forum and visited the chatroom. And it's all fun but I simply dislike text conversations because there isn't any body language and it's hard to implement ways of speaking like sarcasm(although not impossible, English is not my native tongue so it's hard for me). But since you asked so specifically I will leave this post here.

I completely agree with Megabdi.

If it's in the interest of humanity then I would be willing to sacrifice an entire planet. It may be morally wrong but moral only serves a society in keeping it from going feudal. Although it would be interesting to see humanity live next to another intelligent species, no good would come of it. One of the two would eventually try to conquer the other and such a struggle would be much more painful for both parties. Seeking out another planet would be to big a risk.
