This is a simple and complicated question, but I'm limiting you to binary answers.

In my philosophy class the other day, we were discussing the idea of whether or not it's possible to think without using a language. The professor presented the arguments or Whorf and Pinker on whether or not thought was possible without language.

She first laid down that a language had to have syntax(A particular sentence structure assigning meaning.) and semantic.(Meanings assigned to the language.) She also considered things like memories and emotions to not be thoughts. Instincts are also not thoughts. Furthermore, somehow problem solving doesn't involve thinking, and learning commands is route memorization and recognizing a person is pattern recognition, not thinking.(Feel free to disagree with that, and consider those to be thoughts. I know I did. I'm just telling you what my, surprisingly stubborn philosophy professor, said.)

According to prof., Whorf argued that all beings capable of thought must first have language. That nothing we do is above animal instinct until we have language. We cannot have abstract ideas until we have language to describe them. This would mean that babies can't think, blind-deaf-mutes can't think, people born with damage to the language centre of their brains can't think, the vast majority of non-human animals can't think.

Then the professor described Pinker's argument. Roughly put, Pinker claimed thought was possible without language because we're all born with a primitive setup for language. In other words, according to the professor, Pinker wasn't actually saying you could think without language, but instead that you have language from birth.

The professor also said that with Whorf's concept of language, it would have come into existence by evolving from a screech that an animal might let out when a predator came into view, and then somehow evolve into more complex patterns.(OH, BUT SOMEHOW THAT ISN'T THE SAME AS PATTERN RECOGNITION!)

  Spoiler for My opinions:

Anyway, I don't want to totally spoil this for you. What are your thoughts?

Undead isn't the right word here. Undead things are utterly vile.

However, I'm glad to see you're here, even if you're only lurking. It's fine if you post or if you don't, it's always nice to have people here to talk to when you're feeling down. Right?

I'm not blaming you, and I assume you're not blaming me, for us having differing opinions. That's why this is an opinion thread, people are supposed to have differing opinions. Your tastes are quite different from mine, and that's acceptable. People have differing tastes, and the point of this thread was to discuss those differences, and what they mean, right?

Leather underwear is more along the lines of lingerie, panties specialized for sex and whatnot. That, or various features along the lines of S&M. A lot of places you use latex, you could use leather. Also loin-cloths could be made with leather, though that'd count more as a sexual undergarment along the lines of cosplay rather than as something someone would wear every day.

Oh! Frilly skirts are also really cute. Frills can still allow a person's general shape to be seen, but not to be too revealing. It preserves a bit of mystery while also looking innocent and fun. It's not as boring as something wholly plain, but it's not impossible to get in or out of.

This post isn't about sex, it's about sexy. A person can literally find a walnut sexy, so there's really nothing that would be too absurd to have in this post. I'm not sure what's so incoherent, though. Is it the use of the Japanese words? Hrn... perhaps it's harder to convey feelings on these subjects than I thought?

Again, this is "sexy", not "sex". This isn't "What makes sex easy" it's more "What do you like" or "what turns you on" or "what's attractive".

S&M stuff is relevant to this, since some people find those things particularly sexy. Personally, I don't much care for either extreme, though both are fine(In my tastes. Others are free to feel however they want.) in closer to the middle ground.

While there may be no direct repercussions for your actions, this is essentially the self-governing system of Fig. The rules of grammar are enforced by the community, and so too are the rules of the site. Inanity is perhaps not such a good thing. If you want to be inane, you have Facebook or Tumblr. This site is meant for discussions about intellectual topics, like panties or odd dreams. While Pseudo turns a blind eye to the site most of the time, it still exists and we can still post here, and therefore we very well should.

I simply wish I had the power to make it active myself. This site is far more... solid... than something like Facebook. I feel like I can rely on this site still for intellectual discussions, and I don't personally feel a desire to become a part of AloraFane, so this is the figgiest place I have left.

Okay, so I also wanted to mention about materials for undergarments here. Myes.

The best possible cloth, in my opinion, is cotton. Is cotton sexy? Not necessarily, but it's not a real turn off, that's for sure. Cotton is soft, and soft is sensual. That's important, right? THEREFORE COTTON IS IMPORTANT!(I just love cotton all around. Cotton t-shirts, cotton pants, cotton undergarments, cotton socks, cotton everything. Today the only things I'm wearing that aren't 100% cotton are my shoes, my vest(Polyester) and my backpack. Shoes and backpacks are seldom made of cotton.

Polyester is one of the worst things to make undergarments out of. It feels weird, it doesn't have some great aesthetic or some kind of symbolism(Cotton is natural, soft and gentle. Polyester is rough and artificial and dry and uncomfortable. But it can be really warm.)

A lot of people really like silk, but silk is too smooth for me, personally. I'd rather have fluffy cotton. However, silk has its merits, I suppose.(I can't say I have much experience with silk undergarments. Or any experience with them, for that matter.)

Lace is something interesting. It's good for certain themed pieces, like perhaps garter-belts or other lingerie, but I couldn't see it as everyday wear.

Then you have wool. I can't imagine that'd be comfortable, though perhaps something like flannel? It can work, I'm sure. Especially for boxers on a guy, but even then. It's good for nightclothes, but I wouldn't want it to be in my underwear.

Finally you have leather. I consider leather a bit off-putting for the most part, since it's essentially the skin of a dead animal. Sure, I don't mind it in the least for shoes or jackets or coats or anything, but wrapping your genitals in the skin of a dead animal seems rather macabre. However, it works *just* right in certain situations. Leather panties work well with a yandere, no? Really anything that gets a little "kinky" can work leather panties in, right? Leather also works for loincloths, if you're getting into something like that.(I won't judge.)

Is it sad that I can spend this much time writing about underwear?

YOUR PRETENDING TO IGNORE ME ONLY AROUSES ME FURTHER, SAPPY-KUN!

You should find something to say. Ohyes. Also your ambiance is good for some situations, but this thread hardly calls for it, methinks.

Y'know, the irony is that there have been "active" threads constantly ever since I posted this, so it actually seems to be working on bringing at least *some* life back into the site! :D

FOR NOW I'LL ALSO START A SEPERATE SUB-TOPIC! ASIDE FROM THE PANTIES ONE! Because pervy.

This one is about PERSONALITY! Again, this thread's all about what people find sexy, right? So this is about what kinds of personality you think are 'hot' and whatnot. Ohyes. Reply to this comment with your thoughts on "sexy personalities".

(I'm going to use "dere" a lot here, which is a term for types of love interest commonly found in anime and manga. It may be hard to follow, but you'll get an idea of who they are from the context.)

Anyway, for starters, I have very vague ideas about what kind of personality is sexy, and of course it goes with different people. Tsundere girls are very easily sexy. They have a certain level of innocence and cuteness, but they also have attitude and they're not "overly pure". A fluffy-fluff moe character may be far cuter with ease, but usually they're too innocent or pure to think of as "sexy". In other words, you'd want to marry them, but you don't necessarily think of them as sexy. But a tsundere has a bit of a darker personality that makes them sexy.

Really it's the whole "say one thing and mean another" that sorta makes them come off as harsh, but in reality they're sweet, and that's really really nice. You don't feel guilty about liking them, but you can still find it cute, almost humorous, that they get flustered by their own feelings.

But kuudere is *not* sexy. Or cute. In my opinion. Kuudere characters are so cold and inexpressive that it's just... really disappointing. They're essentially dolls, which really bothers me. They're as sexy as a tissue.

Then you have yandere............. >:} Yandere is perhaps the most sexual dere type. A yandere is basically "I love you... to death! If you don't love me back I WILL MAKE YOU LOVE ME!" In the case of a yandere, they're sexy because they're scary. However, to some extent, they can also have a certain moe cuteness, but there's absolutely no guilt in thinking of them as sexy. Prally because they tend to kill people, so nothing you think of them will be impure.

BUT REAL LIFE YANDERE ARE NOT COMMON!(Thank god.)

Other love interests may be even better, though! Uhm, yeah.

Some people really like sluttiness. I personally find that a turn off, and I prefer someone who is reserved and picky, cautious about who they like, but at the same time is willing to be a bit adventurous when they find someone they really really like. Still, they should be someone who isn't shameless. Preferably not too proud, but better too proud than not proud enough. Myes. That.

They shouldn't be too brash or loud, though. Extroversion gets really really annoying. Introverts are awesome.

The thing is, it would seem odd to me if the current version Pseudo is working on would be used on a console. If it's the old version that we currently have access to and play, where people use swords and fight, then that would be great for a portable game, but the drawback there is that it's not going to be a completed series, unless someone else decides to finish it.

I think Pseudo will fully rework the series at least five more times. I think he's remade the game more times than he's made chapters for it. o_O
