Obviously "sad" is a negative word in the sense that it is a negative feeling but that doesn't mean it implies negativity towards Pseudo.

The "we were just joking around" analogy isn't particularly apt there, I don't think. Most of the time when bullies say that it's to defend blatant insults using offensive language, which is different to this, obviously, though that's in my own unfortunate experience admittedly.

True, people that speak English as a primary language use it quite poorly nowadays, but that doesn't mean that people with it as their second language speak it perfectly, just better than people nowadays, which isn't saying much. I wouldn't be surprised to find people that speak English as a second language also read more than those that speak it for their mother tongue. Regardless, in this case the original comment definitely wasn't horrid. Not speaking the language perfectly doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to comment, although I suppose that's my own possibly over-tolerant viewpoint. If anything it just means you should stick to short, simple comments which is what he posted.

And yeah, little bit. Oh well, I'm not complaining, it's just about the only liveliness I've had on this site in a while, even with the chat.

Right, exactly, which means him referring to the site as new doesn't mean that he's comparing it to this one. All he said was new, he didn't draw a direct comparison or say anything else on the subject.

No, *you* said that his earlier message implied negativity, not we. I saw no negativity whatsoever on *his* end which is why I replied. He put absolutely no detail into his comment, worded it neutrally, wasn't aggressive or pushy or anything like that and didn't use any insulting language in his comment. He didn't even put in any opinion on Pseudo, just said it was a shame he feels the way he does about the site without applying blame on one side or the other. If you're going to split-hairs and call that disrespectful any comment could be construed as being disrespectful or insulting if it's not in-depth.

I also find it quite odd that with your talk on carelessness, courtesy and interpretation you don't seem to take into consideration the fact that our Lithuanian friend probably has English as a second language. That would probably have some effect on his consideration on how his comment could be interpreted.

Haha, wow, I don't think I'd have the patience for that. I tend to keep my characters low-level for the challenge! Although, that's not always the case. In several of the Final Fantasy games I got all my characters to 99 (except Final Fantasy VI - only Shadow was allowed to be level 99).

I don't have a defib kill either! I wasn't actually sure if you could get them in BF3. I favour Medic too, for the most part. The M249 SAW is my weapon of choice =P But I don't play a huge amount. I don't have premium, either. I swear everybody online now has premium.

I've never actually played Blitzkrieg 2. Your description has peaked my interest though, I think I need to look into that!

I like to do the same on RTS games, though. If there's freedom to place buildings and such I always like to make it look nice and proper. It *actually* annoys me not to have my setup looking real.

Yeah, I could say that exact same thing to you. And I'm just saying that something CAN be new without a timeline to reference an "old". It doesn't have to be compared to something that already exists to make it "new" in any timeline. For something to be new it just has to have not existed before, it is a new creation, regardless of anything else.

Not explaining himself more doesn't make his statement disrespectful. The fact that there's not something there that makes his respect obvious (e.g. him saying "I respect what you're saying and doing Pseudo") doesn't immediately make what he said disrespectful. He didn't say anything disrespectful or negative so it's not disrespectful, simple as. "consideration" is also obviously a part of it but he's not in a dialogue with Pseudo, you're talking about a small, not-even 2 line long comment that Pseudo probably won't even read. He didn't word it harshly, aggressively, unkindly or anything like that, just simply. Some (actually, most) people don't feel the need to elaborate and explain every detail of how they feel and what they mean in a post. It's a *comment* section, for comments. They make small, short comments that pop into their head from what they've read/watched without going into much depth. That's normal and hardly something to jump on considering all the people that actually expressly disrespect Pseudo in the comments.

So if there's no site before and somebody makes a site out of the blue, that site's not a new website, eh? Makes total sense. Yes, "sad" has negative connotations. Does it mean it's disrespectful? No. What if he meant it's sad that the community is making him feel that way? Is that disrespectful to Pseudo?

Again, "sad" "that you want to make a new site" could just as easily mean that it's sad he feels the need to make a new site as a result of his own community, and/or sad that his own community has come to embarass him. It doesn't say anywhere that it's Pseudo's fault, or that he's overreacting, or anything like that.

Thanks for the update on the game, it sounds very interesting. Good luck with finding a sponsor!

He didn't say this would be considered an 'old' site, he didn't use the word old in his whole comment. Comparing the two sites isn't particularly meaningful, no, but he didn't do that anywhere in his comment. All he said was that it is sad this site is embarrassing for him and wished him luck. Replying to his comment about things that have nothing to do with his comment isn't particularly meaningful.

You haven't had a comment in a year.

Until now.

See, that makes a lot of sense, which is why it annoyed me that the statement was worded the way it is, since it kind of misses the point of the game itself and generalises the people that enjoy them in a negative light...

That is actually pretty accurate of me. I do indeed enjoy many games for their plot, world and setting/physics. For example I am a big fan of the Souls games. The reason for this is not only the way the story is told (which I love) and the world (which is fantastic) but in the gameplay. It's very skill-based and challenging, and if you die it's always your own fault - you mistimed a roll, you missed a parry, you backed yourself into a corner, you decided to use a swinging weapon in a tight space. That kind of thing, it's very enjoyable for me.

Although I don't think with these types people can be generalised all the time. I think most of what you said applies to me, to be honest, and I play different games to satisfy my different needs. For me, when it comes to games, movies and books the characters are often also a huge factor.

We seem to have a similar approach to RTS games as well! From the sounds of things I might take a few more risks, but my first focus in an RTS is to build up a strong defensive position. If I get rushed I can adapt quickly to fend off the attack in almost all cases but if I'm allowed to go at my own pace I'll end up with very few units and a very strong defensive line before I get around to my army. The reason I love RTS games is because of the thought and the strategy involved. Obviously that doesn't apply to everybody (in Halo Wars for example I play a lot of rushers who have clearly just youtubed a strategy and so they immediately quit the game once their rush fails). I have a buddy that I play my RTS games with which is what makes them really fun for me, though. Our gameplay styles compliment each others perfectly. I might be rambling a bit here but I rarely get to talk about RTS games.

We seem to differ when it comes to grinding though =P For BF3 I tend to find a few guns I like and stick to them. I have a friend who actually annoys me with that, he won't play Halo with me anymore (even though he's barely unlocked anything) because he can unlock stuff faster on CoD.

Do you do the same with RPGs, grinding I mean? I usually prefer the challenge of being under-leveled in RPGs so I try to grind as little as possible.

And the ah, first part wasn't suppose to be critical or anything, just thought you might like to know.
