I wasn't sure if Meraeador (not hard to spell at all. nope.) was my favorite character or not, but with the new visual design of Meraeadyth, she could very easily be, pending good writing on your part.

I am also looking forward to how Legion is reimagined, and seeing if it has any unique interactions with our favorite inventor like before (that full heal did feel kind of overpowered, though...)

Unless you don't like lobster...

On the other hand, what if you didn't want chocolate cake? (strange, I know, but some people are weird that way)

You do seem to have the problem that Mardek was never much of a main character... but what if he was?
With a full reboot, you have an opportunity to make the man (or woman?) in whose head Rohoph resides a more interesting character.
What if he objects to or argues with Rohoph more? What would Rohoph do? What COULD he do, and how would that affect Mardek?
There's a lot that can be done with two characters sharing a body, especially if their compatability is just slightly off (maybe Rohoph embodies an emotion one to the right or left of Mardek's?)

If Mardek is to remain a clueless, bland hero, perhaps it would be better to have Rohoph take him over completely (perhaps after he dies or something, so it's not all like "blarg, evil posession time"), and follow Deugan's reaction to his best friend's body walking around without his best friend in it.

Though it is a good thing to note that Rohoph himself was starting to feel more villainous than goody-goody Mardek was ready for at the end of the third installment...

As far as Mardek 4 goes, the problem I always thought you would have in making it was suddenly needing to implement a Bag of Spilling.
The previous installments carried everything over, but since the first was more of an intro than a full game, that makes it more or less only one carry-over.
However, Mardek 3 ended with a ton of characters with a ton of abilities, and in order to balance things and not give each character a million abilities, the only starting I could see for 4 would require some kind of reset so numbers (both of hp/damage and abilities per character) didn't become ridiculous.

May I ask how you were planning to rectify this, or had you gotten that far?

AMAZING monsters. I love looking at the sheer variety of odd creatures people can come up with!

On the topic of types, what if all attacks had one OR two types - a sentiment type that determines the element (water, fire, light, and all that good stuff) and/or a body type that determines the form of the attack (biting, stinging, strangling, tool-assisted, mental, etc), and checked the effectiveness of both types against the target? That would be a system I have not seen before.

You can keep going on about your emotions all you want, and I will continue to sympathize from the shadows :)

And this "Programon" concept does indeed sound like an awesome idea for making Beast Signer something special (unless you want to ALSO do Beast Signer as a separate world? I would choose to make it all one thing, but that's just me). I know someone who names all her pokemon after food, and this could allow her to have an entire party of actual food monsters!
