Fig Hunter Online

Fig Hunter Online is a bit of an ambitious project that I've been planning for a while now. I did make an alpha version of sorts a while ago, but I'm going to scrap that and start again with better planning.
Basically, it's not really a single game, but a tool. It will consist of an Editor which you can use to make your own Adventures which will play sort of like MARDEK (that is, pixelated graphics, turn-based battles, RPG features, dialogue, etc). These Adventures would be saved to the server, and they'd become playable from the browser by other people, who could then rate or comment on them.
Designers could give their Adventures genres and difficulty levels, which would allow players to easily find Adventures that they want to play. You'd have the option of designing a protagonist for your Adventures, or allowing the player to create their own (using the same Character Creator tool used to make PCs and NPCs in the Editor). Players' characters could be saved and taken on different adventures, carrying over items and experience between them.
I aim to make the Editor really easy to use, so the learning period would be short. It'd be simple, but powerful. Keep in mind though that it'd be more akin to a Level Editor than a 'Game Maker'.

This game too might require a fee of sorts for premium content, but I could even go ABSOLUTELY MAD and work on an interesting system where designers of Adventures would get a share of the profits made from people playing them... That might be interesting. Let's wait and see how it turns out, but I won't be working on this for a while.

When you say "share of the profits are you talking in-game money that you can use to buy premium stuff, or are you talking actual money. That would probably revolutionize all gaming ever. (Personally I would be more than happy with the first one but the fact that you would even consider the second one is shocking to me). Best developer ever. Though we all know that.

I hope this thing will have every aspect and enemy from every game that Psuedolonewolf has made even every abandoned weapon and people along with the power to make your own custom spells and weapons there should also be cool quests and side quests that give you huge rewards and even the elemental crystals from deliverance. this game should also allow you to make you put in the cool characters and allies from also Mardek and Deliverances story lines. I just hope this thing wont go too over board with this game. i also hope he puts every song and music track from every game that he made in the past and future times.

If Psuedolonewolf wants this game to be perfect and not at all missing something, he will need to spend a lot of time and effort on it. But the Idea of Fig Hunter Online is really awesome, and I'm exited for its release. Even if it takes 10 years in the making, I wont simply say "screw it", I will just have to convince myself that he is working hard and almost done with it.

I hope that everything he put on the wiki will be on this, like the ultimate fig hunter game!!! Especially if deities like SAPPHIROSMAGORIATHANJATEPMIOS is in it, that would be Great!!!

I have a question, does anyone know whether or not DreamQuest is replacing Fig Hunter Online or whether they just use the same idea or something like that. Another thing, I was wondering if we will ever find DreamQuest in the Games section, I mean it is in development but I suppose it is not 'technically' a game... Answers would be appreciated!

Wow, I played that game and (I hope it's not forbidden or somesuch to play that game) and it was AWESOME, it has a potential and is epic, well, Miasmon and FHO, I'M GONNA WAIT FOR THEM FOR PSEUDO TO COMPLETE!! :D

There is an old version of this somewhere. It's not been developed much, and the editor hasn't been made, but there is a short adventure and the character customisation feature is quite extensive. There's also a different battle system, which has you maving around on the map, rather than switching to a battle screen and choosing skills to use. I would give you a link to it, but Pseudo would probably rather I didn't.

I remember playing this version. I was impressed with the character movement, since none of Pseudo's other games had a similar style. Overall, I thought it was a great prototype and I secretly wish that the older version was still avaliable...

It still exists... somewhere. I'm not sure exactly how to access it, mind, and even if I could, I've already said that I'm not putting up a link to it. I get the idea that comment annoyed Pseudo enough anyway. I really shouldn't have ever posted it, but since you can't delete comments here, there's nothing I can do.

I though it was a pretty impressive prototype as well. I thought that the number of classes you could choose from, even if they hadn't been developed enough to make them sufficiently individual, was brilliant. And the rest of the character customisation was pretty good too. In general, I quite liked it and would like to be able to access it again, but there's not much we can do about that...

There is a link on the old site,but the game has been removed. We probably should just leave the game at that.. Don't worry, the comment brought me back to the days of playing it.. And I agree with the extensive classes! I thought the general idea of playing a thief was great, Pseudo really did better than he thought on the icomplete version..

The true gem is the music. It sounds all wrong on archive.fighunter, not at all like in-game - don't know if that's true for you though. This is the most important reason I miss the "temporary" version... Is it actually still available? I seem to have lost the link. I absolutely enjoy the generic battles' theme... wish I could listen to it properly again.
