I'm going to have to say that you do need to release it. Even if it is as buggy and broken as Beast Signer, (Please consider bringing it back, I really loved it) You do need to release SOMETHING. I was going to suggest quickly finishing Chameleon, despite the fact that I don't really like the idea of it (Mostly because 1. I'm terrible at platformers, I barely made it through CBC, and 2. The idea of the game is overused). But releasing the game would be very beneficial to the site, It's really dying; and may YALORT let this place prosper.

For the missing Miasmon sprites, you could probably get away with using the previous form's sprite with some little doodle around it to make it look "cooler" than the original. Some warning that "these unlockables aren't as well-done as the others" might still be in order, but it would at least be better than a black box.

I really look forward to playing this version as-well!

It has already been shown that people can take his games a modify them... I would be afraid of someone taking the unfinished game and using it as a shell to make their own game... seeing as it was labelled as abandoned, does that make it available for alteration?

Sort of like when you throw something into the dump. The workers might fix it up and sell it at the shop.

The idea is good and I think it would give more positive than negative reactions. What you mentioned, about people complaining about the missing content and them demanding a continuation would happen with a likelihood as near 100% as possible, though. But the advantages weigh that out, I think. I may also be unfairly prejudiced in that matter though, because I want to play that thing.

This is close to how I see it. I would love to see this, and if you are capable of shutting out the comments, I think releasing it as-is would be great.

Sudeo, why are you so obsessed with those mobile games?

Because most mobile games are terribly done but garner a fair sum of money, hes probably taking a gamble but even so he'd still make a decent sum from it considering his potential and how committed he is.

Also gotta consider the fact that it'll bring TONS of new fans to fighunter, especially if this sort of thing is successful.

You know you can edit a comment until 24 hours or some such has passed, right?
So anyhow, you're saying that he should let his games be motivated by greed rather than artistic inspiration? That he should be more concerned about getting £££ than about making a decent game? Besides, I don't want to be forced into buying something I don't want or need simply for the sake of being able to play his games.

And you know my opinion on newfigs.

That is the problem of artists generally, they on the one hand want to make good art and on the other hand do need some means to put bread on the table, so that they can keep making art.

But I also am not happy about the thought that I would need to buy a smartphone first, when I would want to play this game.

You have put a great deal of time/effort into this version of Miasmon already, so I think it would be worth it, if you can bear to do so, to advance it to a somewhat-more-finished state. To be perfectly honest, I'm not overly fond of the connected-universe idea of Alora Fane (or, for that matter, the description of the 'new' version of Miasmon you've given so far), so if you're even remotely willing to work on this version again, I think it could be a great idea for a sense of closure before you set out once again into uncharted territory.

With a relatively short amount of work compared to starting something from scratch, you could have a finished product that you could use to reestablish your presence, gauge reaction to see whether a 'better' version is in order (that could be Greenlit or whatnot), and get back into the rhythm of actually releasing games that you finish. I completely support this.
