Posts relating to Miasmon Bestiary:
Types: Insectoid / Aquatic
This is the all-female counterpart species to the all-male Carminymph from the last post.
It's based on a damselfly larva, which are called nymphs, and the name clearly includes the word 'cyan' too.
Like with Carminymph, I designed it yesterday rather than months ago, making it one of the most recently designed monsters.
Types: Insectoid / Flame
It seems weird adding this as #12 in this blog-based bestiary, since all the others so far were conceived months ago, even if I actually finalised the details of their designs recently, while this one is the result of an idea that first came to me mere hours ago.
It's based on a dragonfly nymph - that's what their larvae are called, for those of you who don't know - so, predictably, it'll evolve into a dragonfly, but I've not actually designed that yet. Well, other than the general idea of it, anyway.
This is an all-male species that actually has an all-female counterpart species; a damselfly larva of the Insectoid/Aquatic type. I'll draw that one next.
Both of them will appear early in chapter 1.
Since they're so new, the designs shown here might not necessarily be what their final versions in the game look like... I might decide to make improvements between now and the release. I mean, its design is not something I'm particularly fond of at the moment, so if I think of anything better, I'll be eager to make changes.
Oh, and its name is based on 'carmine' (a shade of red based on a dye made from insects) and 'nymph'.
Types: Insectoid / Stone
These things live in the same ruins as Scentinel, so they have the same design about them.
They look really robotic - more than I intended - but they're actually made out of stone, like animated statues or something.
