I am curious as to why the creator of this irregularity presents both disorders in one irregularity. I'm pondering that it's either because he suffers from both, in which case he should probably create them as two separate irregularities. Or because he simply doesn't know the difference between the two, no offense.

The two disorders are extremely similar, and it's unknown which one I am currently as I've only recently been diagnosed. The main difference between the two is that while both make it extremely difficult for me to make any social and or romantic bonds with people, Schizotypal is more of a very deep rooted fear of people in general, while Schizoid is feeling no interest in social interaction. Also apparently people with the Schizotypal personality disorder experience perceptual distortions, paranoia or illusions. I have paranoid thoughts, and I've seen shadows of people not there from time to time, but it's not enough to diagnose me Schizotypal. I really hope it's just simply a Schizoid personality because it's been known to evolve into full blown schizophrenia.

Thank you for asking though.

Schizotypal personality disorder is known to evolve into schizophrenia, not a schizoid personality disorder... I'm really bad at typing things sometimes.

Sorry if this is not my place. But I feel a need to point out that, despite the fact that Schizoid and Schizotypal people can appear alike, they are very different disorders. They have a shared eccentricity and lack of sociability, as you said. Schizoid PD is the lack of interest in social interaction, but Schizotypal is not a fear of people. That would either be a Social phobia, Social Anxiety or if it had to be a personality disorder it would be Avoidant, which is more of a fear of rejection. Schizotypal people do however not handle close relationships.
Schizoid and Schizotypal both have a tendency to social isolation, which is what causes their odd behaviour and speech.
Underlying, they have a very different thought pattern, which is the reason that there is a need to distinguish between the two, as different thought patterns requires different treatment.
Anyway, you probably already know, so there is no reason for me to explain further.

I find it interesting that I found this, because I myself am also being diagnosed, they are not far yet, but it's been insinuated that I may have a Schizoid Personality Disorder. My first psychologist's guess was Aspergers Syndrome.

See this. This is the reason I actually come to this site. It's one of the only places that I can actually talk about this with reasonable people. Everyone else in the internet views people that aren't the normal, as not normal or strange and damn do people have xenophobia.

Anyway... I was just paraphrasing what my doctor said, so I'm probably wrong, thanks for clearing that up. It's hard to understand what people mean when they don't speak frankly, like having to climb a mountain just to get to the other side despite there being a road through it.
