Apparently for me hugs are considered rather... "Intimate"? There is a lot of physical contact, of which I am sensitive to and all that. Also, it's warm, and stuff. I'm not really sure, it just seems... As I said "intimate". It's irrational, and abnormal. Tsk.

Generally, I would want my girlfriend to hug me and such, but not... Anyone else, really.

This causes or will cause problems when speaking to "huggy people" (who may or may not exist) or online people who say "*hugs ^_^*". So yeah.

Could anyone who 'likes' hugs explain to me why? I would genuinely like to know.

The real question is - why not?
I mean, hugs are depicted in fiction as very heart-warming and whatnot... And they are, in fact, heart-warming in reality! Although it depends... no, I haven't been hugging anyone incessantly in particular okay. D:

I personally don't like to hug, which is why I asked.
Also, why are they 'heart-warming'?

Well, okay, cuddling - along with hugging - can be seen as heart-warming in general. It's because of the warm affectionate feeling of being in someone's arms, although it certainly varies from person to person. If you're hugging someone you don't like, it's fine to dislike the interest of 'hugging people you generally don't like'. If you're hugging someone you do like, it's quite the opposite. Think of it that way if you will.
(Also, congrats on the 666th comment. :3)

I've personally never cuddled before, but I have given hugs myself. I'm saying this because it does seem like you assume I don't know how it feels to hug.
That being said, hugging has somewhat of an 'overwhelming' effect on me. That is to say, I feel an incredible amount of warmth and what could be considered happiness or something. It's extremely exhausting to me.
I think it's for that reason I don't like to hug, the fact that it's mentally tiring.
(Thanks and I screenshotted it. Now I know of a wonderful way to present myself to others. >:D)

This is apparently a trait of Aspergers, being overwhelmed by emotions like that, and super sensitive touch, and wanting to present yourself as demon worshipping Satanists. Or was the last one DnD players? I forget.

Anyway, I feel (though I'm not 100% sure, and I have one hell of an idealistic view on love) that I would feel the same way. And, well, feeling overloaded with warmth and happiness by someone I love... That would be awesome.

Not something like a huge bear hug every time I come back from work, or anything, but maybe something like an arm around my shoulder while watching TV. Would that count as a hug? Who knows.

And you all thought I was only interested in the sexual aspects of a relationship.

Yes indeed, except for the DnD part, that's just a DnD nerd being a nerd. Apparently it has something to do with the amygdala being a bit bigger and the like.

It would indeed be awesome to feel such warmth from a girl I love, but I think I'd have a few problems if that girl was clingy. As I said before, it's extremely exhausting and if that girl wants to hug every minute or so...

From what I gather that's a 'half' hug: ∞ LINK ∞
Anyway, I think what you're referring to is cuddling. You know, when you and your girlfriend are sitting together being all snoozy and cuddly on the couch...

I had hopes that you weren't. And it paid off!
